  2. INTRODUCING: CDAUDIO.EXE
  3.  
  4.                    A Compact Disc Audio Player Application
  5.  
  6.     The programs only requirements, besides a CD-ROM drive capable of audio
  7.  playback of music discs, is OS/2 2.x and PM.
  8.  
  9.  This program does NOT require the Multi Media PM2 to be installed.
  10.  
  11.  The program sends IOCTLs to the CD-ROM device driver, both OS/2 2.0 and OS/2
  12.  2.1 drivers will work with this application.
  13.  
  14.  CDAUDIO.EXE is a full 32 bit presentation manager application.
  15.  
  16.   A MOUSE IS REQUIRED THERE IS NO KEYBOARD SUPPORT.
  17.  
  18.  I figure anybody using OS/2 2.x without a mouse must not have PM loaded, in
  19.  which case cdaudio would not run anyway.

  27.  Pressing play by itself plays track 1 through to the end of the disc.

  29.  Pressing after a number was entered plays that track number to end of disc.

  31.  Pressing with memory active plays the play list stored in memory.

  33.  Pressing with pause active resumes play at the current postition.

  90.  Used in conjunction with the number keypad to enter tracks in memory.

  92.  Press desired track number on keypad and then pressing memory will store that
  93.  track number in a list to playback when the play key is pressed.

  99.  Will show a dialog box and display the playback list stored in memory.

  103.  CLEAR Button:

  105.  With a number key active it Will clear a keypad entry

  107.  With memory active it will display a message box to clear the play list

  111.  CDAUDIO.EXE will NOT stop playback if the program is closed.

  113.  If closed when memory was active the disc will play the current track and stop.
  114.  If closed with normal playback active the disc will play to end of the disc.

  116.  Known Problems:
  117.  
  118.         Sometimes pressing the search buttons causes the playback to stop.
  119.         Pressing the play button will resume play at the current position.
  120.  
  121.         In OS/2 2.1 the CDROM driver doesn't seem to work correctly if booted
  122.         up with NO CD in the drive.
  123.         Also if booted up with a data disc in the drive sometimes cdaudio does
  124.         not think the drive is ready when switched with a music disc.
  125.  
  126.         These problems are being investigated.

  130.   FUTURE PLANS FOR CDAUDIO:

  132.    I am planning on putting in support for the user to input disc and track
  133.  titles to store in a file indexed off of UPC codes on the disc, if no UPC code
  134.  is found then it would index off of number of tracks and total time of disc.
  135.  
  136.    Also planning on putting in support for display options.
  137.  
  138.    Examples: Display total time of disc or track time during playback or both.
  139.  
  140.   Any suggestions to improve the look and functionality of cdaudio are welcome.
